software

since starting these pages, support for raw images in linux has improved significantly - I haven't needed to compile my own software in ages. I'm currently running fedora 7 and nearly everything I need is available in the standard fedora sources and can be installed via yum.

this is a list of the software I find useful for manipulating my raw images. you will need all of it in order to run the scripts I talk about later.

the gimp

$ sudo yum install gimp gimp-libs gimp-devel

ufraw (with gimp plugin)

$ sudo yum install ufraw ufraw-gimp

gthumb

$ sudo yum install gthumb

rsync

$ sudo yum install rsync

Image::ExifTool

$ sudo perl -MCPAN -eshell
cpan> install Image::ExifTool

jpegexiforient

$ wget http://sylvana.net/jpegcrop/jpegexiforient.c
$ gcc -o jpegexiforient jpegexiforient.c

my custom scripts
