this is a list of the software I find useful for manipulating my raw images. you will need all of it in order to run the scripts I talk about later.

the gimp - included with fedora

rsync - included with fedora

jpegtran - included with fedora

ImageMagick - included with fedora

exifautotran (remove the .txt extension when you save it)

jpegexiforient (just "gcc -o jpegexiforient jpegexiforient.c")

the original neftags2jpg was difficult to compile so I went looking for something better. as it turns out, Image::ExifTool is just about all you need - see my neftags2jpg script (it's just three lines).

ufraw ok, ufraw requires lcms which can cause a bit of pain. on my fedora core 2 box I needed to make this link after installing lcms but before compiling ufraw

    $ sudo ln -s /usr/local/lib/liblcms.so.1 /usr/lib/liblcms.so.1
